Home Energy Audit
1. What is the difference between energy efficiency and energy conservation?
Efficiency: Amount of energy something uses
Conservation: Act of saving energy.
2. In your opinion, based on the results of this audit, how energy efficient is your
home? Explain.
My home is really efficient due to the ENERGY-STAR rated appliances. The amount of laundry
and dish washing we do is also fairly scheduled to not use as much energy.
3. What area of your household do you think needs the most work to become
more efficient?
I think my shower needs the most work as it rains down hot water really fast.
4. What are three things your household could do to conserve more energy?
5. Are you willing to make these changes? Why or why not?
Yes as although it is a small impact, it will help the world as it combine with all the other people
trying to make an impact.
6. For what purposes is hot water really needed in the home? In your opinion,
what are some reasons many people use more hot water than they really need?
I think that hot water should only be used for winter showers as the environment is cold. Many people just
use hot water due to their preference.
7. What energy efficiency or design features do you think should be considered when
constructing new homes?
Some designs should be to build in a cool and right environment. Another should be to use trees to provide
shade and coolness to your home.
8. Did you come across any other factors that might affect home energy use, but were
not included in this audit? What were they?
No.
